COVID-19 and Pregnancy

Abstract Objectives: reviewing the available literature on COVID-19 infection and maternal perinatal outcomes. Methods: this is a narrative review of carried out from March to September 2020, usingthe MESH: coronavirus, Covid 19, SARS-CoV-2, pregnancy, gravidity, pregnancy complications infectius. All study designs, reviews, recommendations technical notes were included, without distinction language that would bring approach new coronavirus in gestational scenario. Results: pandemic has had devastating effects, affecting millions people claiming almost million lives worldwide. Initially, pregnant women not seen as risk group for disease, however proportion affected during pregnancy-puerperal cycle increased, several studies published showing an increased complications. Brazilian have also warned high number deaths, associated with presence comorbidities but, above all, social determinants disease serious failures care. Conclusion: need adequate research design was observed, many are only letters or small series cases, addition expert recommendations, necessary scientific rigor.
